An original pencil drawing depicting the mighty German battleship Tirpitz cruising along the coast of Norway in 1942 under the aerial protection of Me109s of JG5 based at Petsamo.
The Tirpitz was a constant thorn in side of allies for the three years it was based in Norway; its very presence tying up many allied resources in an effort to protect the North Atlantic convoys. Many attacks on it were made by the RAF but it was not until a raid by Lancasters of 9 and 617 Squadrons on 12 November 1944 that it was finally sunk.
Large sized original drawing that is supplied in a standard double mount.
Signed by the artist.
